Spirit Week and homecoming activities planned for Ballston Spa

The Ballston Spa Central School and the community will combine efforts once again to celebrate school and community pride during the district’s annual Community Spirit Week from Monday, Sept. 26 to Saturday, Oct. 1.

On Wednesday, Sept. 28, at 6 p.m., high school students will play a powder puff football game and hold a pep rally. A community spirit parade is planned for 6 p.m. Friday, Sept. 30.  It will be followed by a Homecoming football game against Albany High School at 7 p.m.

Senior athlete will be recognized at the home athletic games on Tuesday through Friday evenings. The homecoming dance for current high school students is Saturday night.

Activities exclusive to the high school are: America Monday, Tie-Dye Tuesday, Blackout Wednesday, Class Shirt Thursday and School Spirit Friday.

Students and clubs will participate in the annual painting of windows on businesses throughout the village with purple and gold spirit week themes. Students in the middle and elementary schools will also be participating in various events throughout the week. More information is on the district website.

Organizations from throughout the area are invited to participate in the annual Community Spirit Parade. This year’s theme is “The Movies.” The parade is organized by the Mayor and Village of Ballston Spa, the Ballston Spa Business and Professional Association, the Ballston Spa High School Student Council and community members.
