Saratoga County students can take a “Trail Blazing” course, a free training that helps students learn how to carve their own social action path.

It is being offered to youth and young adults ages 11 to 22. The first training held from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on MLK, Jr. Day, Monday, Jan. 16, at the Saratoga Springs Public Library, Henry St.

Saratoga High School National Honor Society will offer four community service credit hours for participation in this training.  This training is designed and implemented by Youth2- Youth Helping Youth (www.youthsquared.org).

This training will help youth think about what they want to do to improve their community or the world and how to realize their visions. It also explores the value of volunteering and why people take part in social action. The training also explores ways to make volunteer work both meaningful to youth and match their interests.

Mayor Joanne Yepsen will join the conversation to help youth understand the needs of Saratoga County.
