Ballston Spa High School’s International Baccalaureate (IB) Programme will host an information night at 6 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 11, in the high school library.
Interested students and families will hear about the IB options available at the school. Both public and private colleges will discuss what role IB plays in college admissions. Current IB students and teachers will join in the discussion.
Prospective IB students and families are invited to meet the IB team from 2:30 to 3:30 on Tuesday, Jan. 17, in the library to discuss IB courses of interest. This forum provides information on both how and what students may explore in the seven courses of IB study: Language and Literature, Language Acquisition, Individuals and Societies, Experimental Sciences, Mathematics, Arts, and the Inner Core.
Students will also be able to learn more about the program informally at several lunches with IB students from Monday to Wednesday, Jan. 30 – Feb. 1, in the guidance office. Interested students are encouraged to bring their lunch and eat with current IB students to ask further questions.
June 2016 was the third graduation year of full International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme Candidates from Ballston Spa High School. This is a rigorous college-level program for motivated students in the last two years of high school.
