SUNY Adirondack will mark Transgender Day of Remembrance with a candlelight vigil at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 20, in Miller Auditorium in Dearlove Hall at its Queensbury campus on Bay Road.
Transgender Day of Remembrance is an annual observance that honors the memory of the transgender people whose lives were lost in acts of anti-transgender violence that year.
In 2018, human rights advocates tracked at least 26 deaths of transgender or gender non-conforming people in the United States due to violence, the majority of whom were black transgender women.
The public program is free. More information on Transgender Day of Remembrance is at www.glaad.org/tdor.
