The Hawley Foundation for Children has awarded six students from Saratoga Springs High School and two students from Saratoga Central Catholic High School with $17,000 through its College Incentive Awards Program.
These students met the Hawley Foundation requirements regarding academics, need for financial assistance and performing volunteer work in the community.
The awardees and the colleges they will be entering are: Yotham Sage – Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI); Jordan Catone – Dean College; Brandon Karam – Syracuse University; Kyelle Batts – Hudson Valley Community College; Guadalupe Pantoja – Malone University; Lorenzo Marcolin – Wilkes University; Demi Hartz – Siena College and Olivia Vavasour – Brown University.
The Hawley Foundation has a tradition of assisting youth in our community through grants to organizations, individuals and college-bound or vocational-oriented students to best realize The Foundation’s mission of promoting the health, welfare and education of children in Saratoga County.
The Hawley Foundation awards an average of $130,000 annually. Applications for grants are offered in late January/early February for consideration by the board.
In addition to the College Incentive Grants, The Hawley Foundation also distributes Community Grants and Camp Awards, as well as discretionary fund to assist children on a case-by-case basis who are in financial need and reside in Saratoga County.
