Saratoga Springs High School students teamed up with software/technology company Garnet River to create a new iPhone walking tour application of the city called “Tour Through Time.” Powered by GPS technology, the app provides historical information and images of unique buildings and landmarks on Broadway, Congress Park and the east side.

The Saratoga 150 walking tour app comes just in time for the 150th anniversary of thoroughbred racing in the city. Students researched city history, obtained old images and assembled the language and visual elements of the program.

“The information allows users to fully appreciate and understand the history and significance of specific sites as they stroll the streets of Saratoga,” said Colleen Parker McMahon, general counsel at Garnet River. “Each tour takes the user down a separate path with different sites and unique content.”

Tour Through Time is available for free download in the iTunes store, or here.
