There will be one notable change on the Mechanicville Board of Education effective July 1.
Joseph Micklas, a longtime member of the seven-member board, did not submit petitions to run for re-election, according to District Clerk Mary Beth Maciariello. Running to fill two three-year terms on the school board are board President Joseph Waldron, who works as the police chief of Mechanicville, and newcomer Michael Raucci, who works as general manager of New Country Toyota & Scion of Clifton Park, Maciariello said. Mechanicville City School District
Budget amount: $23,067,695
Spending change: $937,070 or four percent increase
Tax impact: Levy would increase a projected 2.93 percent.
Board of Election: Board President Joseph Waldron and Michael Raucci are seeking three-year terms.
Proposition: Spend $260,000 for two school buses
Voting: Noon to 9 p.m. May 19 in the Mechanicville High School gym.
